Head coach Charlie Strong thought the event was a success.

Gone are the day of ground-shaking Junior Days for the Texas Longhorns, but the visitor list on Saturday in Austin was impressive enough given the inclement weather that kept at least one Metroplex prospect from attending the event.

The payoffs aren't immediate any more, there aren't any orchestrated Friday commitments from legacies or questionable offers to linebackers who end up as fullback.

Still, head coach Charlie Strong considered it a success:

Finished up a great Junior Day! Thanks to everyone who came to ATX! #HookEm

The prospects arrived on campus and took the obligatory pictures, while also listening to Strong sell the program and journeying out to see the football stadium, making for pretty standard fare compared to what other programs do. The keys are giving the prospects who haven't visited a chance the opportunity to see the facilities and choosing a few key targets to officially add to the recruiting radar.

As a result of the latter process, four reported offers went out on Saturday:

Rosenberg George Ranch running back Darius Anderson -- Thoughts on Anderson here.

North Mesquite offensive tackle Jean Delance (Oklahoma commit) -- Couldn't attend due to weather, but picked up an offer anyway.

Waco cornerback Eric Cuffee -- The three-star prospect picked up the third known offer to go out on Saturday.

Wylie East athlete Aubrey White (Kansas commit) -- White reported an offer as an athlete/running back on Saturday, but there's some question about whether the staff really extended one to him.

Here's the list of confirmed visitors on the day:

Rowlett quarterback Logan Bonner

Arlington Lamar quarterback Shane Buechele (Texas commit)

Houston Stratford running back Rakeem Boyd

Katy running back Kyle Porter

Houston King all-purpose back Trayveon Williams

Fredericksburg (Virg.) Riverbend offensive tackle Zach Adams

Trophy Club Byron Nelson offensive tackle Kellen Diesch

Austin LBJ defensive tackle Johnnie Williams

Manor linebacker/defensive end Erick Fowler

Cibolo Steele linebacker/defensive end Mark Jackson

Gilmer linebacker Demarco Boyd (Texas commit)

Manvel linebacker Jordan Carmouche

New Orleans (La.) John Curtis linebacker Nate Evans

Austin St. Andrew's athlete Blais Herman

Katy Tompkins athlete Christian Wallace

And the prospects who did not attend or were not confirmed via Twitter:

Potomac (Mary.) Bullis School quarterback Dwayne Haskins

Beaumont Central running back Devwah Whaley

West Mesquite wide receiver Dee Anderson (LSU commit)

Waco La Vega wide receiver Brandon Benson

Navasota wide receiver Tren'Davian Dickson

Dallas First Baptist wide receiver Camron Williams

Argyle tight end JC Chalk (Clemson commit)

New Orleans (La.) John Curtis offensive tackle Willie Allen -- Went to Tulane instead. Bad news for Texas since he's not going to Tulane and decided not to come to Austin with his teammate.

Manvel offensive tackle Austin Myers (TCU commit)

Crosby offensive lineman Keenan Murphy

Houston Westfield defensive tackle Ed Oliver

Kountze cornerback Grayland Arnold (Baylor commit)

Southlake Carroll cornerback Obi Eboh

Getting a number of Houston-area prospects on campus was significant for Texas. This picture features Dontavious Jackson, Jeffrey McCulloch, and Eric Monroe:

All four hold offers from the Longhorns and Monroe is a key target since North Shore is a pipeline school, he's friends with Texas basketball signee Kerwin Roach, and the other elite safeties in the state, Brandon Jones of Nacogdoches and Deontay Anderson of Manvel, both look like Texas A&M leans at this time.

As for the linebackers, with Demarco Boyd already in the fold and all the linebacker signees from the 2015 class, the Horns won't have many spots at the position and won't be able to take all three of the prospects pictured above unless the staff believes that Gilmer commit Demarco Boyd will play fullback in college instead of linebacker.

Carmouche has a nice skill set since he's good in coverage and as a blitzer, but he looks like he's not much over 6'0, so Jackson and McCulloch may be the top targets of the three. Offered recently, the rangy Manvel product sounds like he has Texas in the mix:

Jackson was high on Texas early in the process, but his offer was a long time coming compared to other top schools, so it was an important visit for him. Fortunately for Strong and his staff, it apparently went pretty well:

A number of offensive linemen were on campus, including top target JP Urquidez, an offensive tackle from Copperas Cove. Considered a possible Baylor lean at this time (Urquidez has a picture in a Bears uniform as his background), Urquidez could make a decision in the near future, making his trip to Austin on Saturday all the more important:

Neither of the Anderson twins have an offer at the time. Diesch does as a prospect with a build similar to former Texas offensive tackle Josh Cochran -- he's a lean guy who could be a hard gainer and may not have a lot of pure, natural strength.

In other (non) news, Kendell Jones is a freak of nature:

ESPN 300 DT Kendell Jones checked in at 6-4 and 364 pounds at Texas junior day. He's still 16. Wow. pic.twitter.com/GtJ2RbrGLD

The major weight gain over the last year suggests that Jones isn't quite at the absurdly low body-fat percentage he was in 2014, but it's still a virtual certainty that he carries the weight as well as anyone in the country.

In the defensive secondary, Christian Wallace could end up becoming a key target after his decommitment from TCU. As long as he takes care of business off the field, his size, speed and physicality make him a high-level prospect. Here's his take on the visit:

Time to put the Houston-area prospect on commitment watch?

The Texas Longhorns continue to target running backs from around the state, extending an offer to Rosenberg George Ranch's Darius Anderson at Saturday's Junior Day:

It was the fourth known offer to go out during the day -- Texas also offered North Mesquite offensive tackle Jean Delance (Oklahoma commit), Wylie East athlete Aubrey White (Kansas commit), and Waco High cornerback Eric Cuffee.

Anderson is a 5'9.5, 180-pounder who holds offers from California, Colorado, Houston, Kansas, SMU, and Tulsa.

Given his offer list, the coaches might not be pushing for a quick decision from him, but if the staff is willing to take a pledge from Anderson in the near future, he rates as the most likely of the Saturday offers to make a choice in favor of the Longhorns.

There are not currently any predictions in Anderson's Crystal Ball.

A consensus three-star prospect rated at 87, Anderson is the No. 458 recruit nationally, the No. 35 running back, and the No. 64 player in Texas.

At the Houston SPARQ Combine in 2014, Anderson did not show great top-end speed in running a 4.77 40-yard dash, but he did post a great 4.22 shuttle and a monster 37.8-inch vertical leap that ranked No. 12 at the event.

Based on his film, Anderson looks to have the overall speed that better matches his shuttle time and vertical leap than his 40 time last year because he's capable of running away from defenders with angles on him in the open field, a trait that helped him rack up over 1,800 yards and 22 rushing touchdowns as a junior.

Still, he's not a burner -- Anderson is at his best using his feet to make defenders miss in short areas and step out of tackles. There are a lot of different scouting terms for the various skills that make up that talent, but for Anderson, it seems more apt to say that it simply comes naturally.

Classified as a pure running back, Anderson is probably more of an all-purpose back, so it's nice to see that he scored three touchdowns through the air on 326 receiving yards in 2014.

The Horned Frogs look like the most serious competition for the Waco product at this time.

A third offer went out for the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, as Waco High cornerback Eric Cuffee became to third in-state player at his position to pick one up while in Austin for the Texas Junior Day, according to Scout's Jason Higdon.

Cuffee also holds offers from Arkansas, Boise State, California, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Purdue, SMU, Stanford, TCU, Tulsa, and Vanderbilt.

Surprisingly enough, the hometown Bears haven't offered yet, despite the fact that there are several predictions for Baylor in his Crystal Ball:

The most pertinent predictions are the recent ones for TCU, made since Cuffee declared the Horned Frogs his leader on February 8 after picking up an offer from head coach Gary Patterson on February 1.

Cuffee has shown interest in Texas in the past, however, tripping down to Austin for the Orange-White game in 2014.

Considered a consensus three-star prospect with a rating of 88, Cuffee is the No. 376 recruit overall, the No. 35 cornerback, and the No. 53 player in Texas.

Cuffee measured in at 5'11 and 187 pounds at the Houston SPARQ Combine in 2014, making him one of the more physically mature cornerbacks in the state -- he already looks the part of a college safety. And one of his testing results was impressive, too, as the Waco High product ran a 4.62 40-yard dash. His shuttle time was less impressive at 4.60, while a 32.9-inch vertical leap is a solid result.

His coaches say that he wasn't thrown at much as a junior, but he did end up with nine passes broken up and 25 total tackles. The shuttle time from Houston last year doesn't look especially accurate when seeing his feet on film. As a short, choppy strider, Cuffee looks quick planting and driving out of his breaks and comfortable flipping his hips to run with receivers without losing much speed.

While Cuffee doesn't have the height that head coach Charlie Strong often prefers in his cornerbacks, he makes up for it with the ability to play press coverage on the line of strength and bother opposing wide receives with his strength and overall physicality. The willingness to battle extends to his tackling ability, as he's a natural sink-and-drive type of player who keeps his feet moving on contact.

Based on his attributes, Cuffee looks like a potential nickel corner in college, but could also effectively make the move to safety if his first step and top-end speed don't translate to cornerback.

One of the biggest recruiting events of the spring takes place on Saturday.

Gone are the days when the Texas Longhorns would pick up numerous commitments on Junior Days, but the probable lack of big-time fireworks doesn't decrease the significance of the event.

Sure, Saturday's Junior Day, the only one head coach Charlie Strong plans to hold this spring, won't even feature many offers going out, but it does represent a major chance to favorably impact a number of important prospects.

Here's a list of confirmed visitors who plan on being in attendance (via Twitter, Bleacher Report, HornSports, and the Statesman).
Not attending

DeSoto quarterback Tristen Wallace (Texas Tech commit) -- The recent Texas offer was planning on traveling to Lubbock this weekend, but those plans may fall through because Texas Tech moved back its Junior Day because of potential inclement weather.

Manvel safety Deontay Anderson -- Hemphill thought that Anderson was going to be able to make it with him as recently as last week, but that apparently is not the case now, according to HornSports.

There are also a number of other key targets who likely won't be in attendance. As the 2015 cycle proves, that's hardly a death knell for any recruitments. However, it would certainly be ideal to get some of those prospects on campus for a spring practice or the Orange-White game.

A second committed prospect received an offer on Saturday.

There weren't many prospects in line for an offer entering the Texas Longhorns Junior Day, but Wylie East athlete Aubrey White was one of them and picked it up in the morning:

Committed to the Kansas Jayhawks sine last October, the 5'11, 190-pounder now has a national offer list. Alabama. Arizona State, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Houston, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Washington, among others, have all offered White.

So it's probably just a matter of time until he decides to flip to another program or merely open up his recruitment once again.

A consensus three-star prospect, White's offer list is much more impressive than his rankings -- he's considered the No. 1032 prospect overall, the No. 16 athlete, and the No. 144 recruit in Texas.

Offered by the Longhorns as a running back/athlete, White seems most likely to end up as an all-purpose back or perhaps even a defensive back if he commits to Texas given the current numbers at wide receiver the presence of prospects like Sachse star Devin Duvernay still on the board at the position.

Unlike a prospect like King all-purpose back Trayveon Williams, offers out to White are as much about potential as production -- he scored only three touchdowns as a junior, but given his superior 2013 rushing numbers, it's possible that White was limited in some way last fall.

He has experience playing both running back and wide receiver and checked in at 5'11 and 169 pounds last spring at the Dallas NFTC, where he also clocked a 4.78 40-yard dash, posted a 4.32 shuttle time, and registered a 29.7-inch vertical leap.

Built a little bit like Baylor all-purpose back commit Kameron Martin, White looks more like a wide receiver or a defensive back than a running back, but he has skills that project favorably for him to continue carrying the football at the next level, especially his ability to stop and start again, as well as a slide cut that is impressive.

His speed is solid, but he's not quite a breakaway threat on film or in terms of his testing time last spring. At his best, he's making defenders miss in small spaces or lowering his shoulder to to demonstrate power belied by his modest size.

In the passing game, White made most of his catches on screens while providing some evidence that he can operate as a pure receiver and come up with catches in traffic.

Overall, it's the versatility of White that makes him appealing as a prospect because he's not quite as impressive as either Williams or Martin on film as a running back.

Do the Horns have a shot at flipping the Sooners pledge?

Inclement weather in the Metroplex kept North Mesquite offensive tackle Jean Delance from attending the Texas Junior Day on Saturday, but it didn't keep the Longhorns from extending an offer:

Officially offered by the University of Texas!!! #HookEm pic.twitter.com/kLePNVEhW5

The 6'5, 270-pounder saw his recruitment take off during the fall, but committed to the Oklahoma Sooners on November 25, three days after he picked up his offer from Bob Stoops and staff. Since then, numerous other school have entered his recruitment.

Delance is ranked as a consensus four-star prospect ranked as the No. 162 player overall, the No. 17 offensive tackle, and the No. 22 recruit in Texas.

Despite his commitment, the Longhorns look to have a solid shot to flip him from their Red River rival -- a flip pick in Delance's Crystal Ball came in several weeks ago:

And even though Delance wasn't able to make the Junior Day -- a sign of his interest in the Horns in the first place -- he wants to attend the Orange-White game in April, which could be a major day for Texas in Delance's recruitment.

He also holds offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, TCU, and Texas Tech.

The 6'5, 270-pounder has a lean frame packing little bad weight, so it's a bit surprising that he weighs as much as he does -- he will have to work hard in the weight room to add the strength and mass to compete at the college level.

A right tackle for North Mesquite, Delance has all the mobility that one would expect from a 275-pounder -- he's capable of pulling and getting to the second level with ease. He can also at times show an impressive punch even though he doesn't have a great deal of apparent strength.

Since he's a good athlete and can get into his kick step with excellent quickness, the physical tools are there, most likely including the flexibility that will be the key to his development. However, he needs a lot of work with his technique, as he doesn't often get his hand placement right and there isn't much evidence that he can roll out of his hips with a flat back to win at the line of scrimmage.

Landing Delance would be a significant accomplishment for Texas since the top two offensive tackles are already committed to other programs. Allen offensive tackle Greg Little, the No. 1 prospect in the state, is committed to Texas A&M and will almost certainly follow his friend Kyler Murray to College Station. And Silsbee offensive tackle Patrick Hudson is currently pledged to Baylor.
